Balance in All Things
BALANCE. THE SECRET TO LIFE.
You're welcome. We cracked the code. We answered the most compelling question ever asked. What people want to know most. Here's the answer- balance. In all things. Be it work/life, sweet/savory, family/friends, intensity/recovery etc... in this blog we cover a few of our favorites, but mostly in the fashion categories!
We like how this dress is a little bit sweet and a little bit sass. The way the tie wraps through the dress and makes a bow is cute and feminine but the plunging neckline and above knee hem make it a whole lot less innocent. Balance your sweet and sassy as a nice compromise for your upcoming warm weather days. Play on the sassy side and finish this look with funky fashion sneakers for an "I dare you" vibe . But complete it with strappy wedges and you're predictably adorable!
BALANCED IS NOT EQUAL
Balance doesn't mean 50/50- it means balance, which is not visually indicated, but rather decided by something deeper. Somethings are heavier than others so they don't require as much space while others are lighter. Think of impact and let that be your guide. A solid colored dress can be balanced by multi colored accessories, but because the jewelry is more complex, compared to the simplicity of the dress, it doesn't need to be over done in volume. Just a couple pieces compliment the look beautifully as a finishing touch.
BALANCE IN COMFORT AND STYLE
Only hearts knows how to make an easy summer dress that's both comfortable and stylish. When you need that no brainer, this is the type of dress you can depend on. In this versatile blue shade, it's a great daytime dress (for those of you who feel odd wearing a black dress when the sun's out.) It's not overly snug by any means, so it has a nice casual flair to it. Perfect for parties when paired with wedges, out and about grabbing lunch when paired with sandals, and school graduations or ceremonies when paired with heels. Check the box for perfectly balance comfort and style because this fabric is soft to the touch, so you'll love slipping it on for any reason!
BALANCE YOUR COMMITMENTS
There's always so much to do, how can we make time for it all? We know how hard it is to say no to commitments because like you, we want to be able to do it all. Knowing there are only 24 hours in the day, we try to make accessorizing as easy as possible. I love earrings that can go day to night and this pair is a perfect illustration. They look funky and edgy during the day, but when the sun goes down they look like a dressy evening pair. If you'd said yes and over committed yourself, at least know that you can smoothly transition from one event to the next without hassle!
BALANCE WITH ANOTHER
Remember that it's often easier to find balance with another person. Think about your relationships and the people closest to you. This balancing act involves not only individual strength, but interactive support. The key word here is interactive -- if you're bearing all the weight, you can't get balanced. But if you're not carrying your share, you won't get balanced either. What's most important is not how much weight one person carries at any given time, but how you interact with one another, drawing from and giving energy to each other. That's balance.
BALANCE IN FIT
Flowy and fitted compliment each other so well. KZ's silk tunic cami is has that easy carefree drape that we all wish we could live by. Simple and laid back, this top has only one rule it abides by- look gorgeous. It falls from the shoulders like a luxurious waterfall and with a hi-lo hem, you have got an easy style that will look great over jeans, pants or a skirt- but balance it with a fitted lower half. Skinny jeans, leggings or pencil skirt is what we would suggest. It provides a stylish balance that others will applaud!
HEAVY AND LIGHT
A very simple, lightweight silk top finds it's balance with a heavy multi layered chain necklace. While it's still simple, lacking in erroneous extras, the necklace is just layers of chains in multiple tones, so the theme fits, while the balance is achieved. Lets talk work/life balance. If your initial reaction is, "What is that? Work is life..." Then you, my friend, are definitely suffering from an imbalance here and are in bigger trouble than you know. Work life balance may sound like an impossible feat - especially in today's technology driven world where cell phones make us accessible all the time. Not only can we be reached, but perfectionism makes us want to stay plugged into work as well. Try the healthier option which is to strive not for perfection, but for excellence - and don't let yourself be chained to your job!
BALANCE IN SKIN EXPOSURE
Sure nothing says summer like a tank and shorts, but we are still in transition months and there are still lots of occasions where that much skin is seen as inappropriate. We encourage balancing out how much skin you're exposing so the greedy eyes out there don't over fill. If you're baring arms, pair it with denim, full length denim, to keep the mystery alive. What we love about skinny jeans is that you can still flaunt every bit of that hard earned muscle tone, without giving away the goods! Plus, you don't have to remember to shave your legs. And in today's busy fast paced way of life, when something's gotta give, it's usually something like razor duty that goes out the window!
BALANCING WARM AND COOL
Blues have their very cool tones, so it's tempting to go with a silver or gunmetal set of accessories. Let us suggest, however, switching it to a warmer metal, like gold to balance the tones. This brings a glow to your complexion rather that creating a total wash out.
BALANCE IN TIMES OF TRANSITION
Unless you're lucky enough to born a Libra, whose sign is a scale, you're probably struggling with balance like the rest of us! Have you noticed that in times of transition (like when spring turns to summer) you are particularly susceptible to feeling off balance? It seems to us that in months like May, when there’s a lot of change going on, I hear the phrase, “There’s just not enough time in the day to do everything I need to do…” even more often than most other times of the year. Try to remember that finding balance is a lifetime project. It is ongoing. It is not a finite goal at the end of which you will have a peaceful, calm and meaningful life. Balance is a way of living. It is a process. In fashion we look for pieces that fit the transition time period. Not too heavy, not too light, but something that works for this time of year which can sometimes feel like three seasons in one day. This top has fitted sleeves and a flowy body so it's not going to cling and make you too hot as the day progresses. Go with the flow and find your balance!
BALANCE FOR A MOMENT
Balance often occurs only for a fleeting moment, but it can reappear over and over again. Rather than trying to stay balanced, think of yourself as practicing balancing, over and over again. I love that many yoga teachers talk about yoga as a “practice” – the goal is not to become great at it, but to keep practicing it. You often hear the comment that it’s good to fall – it means you were trying. The same is true in life. As long as we keep practicing finding balance, we will find one. Of course, we will lose it. But we will find it again. Your style can also be a practice, some days I know I'm on point while other days are a struggle. If I have an especially stylish day, I can think it's happy accident, but really I know it's the effort I've put into learning what goes well together and if I can pull it off. Track your stylish days by making a note or taking a photo to save for days when you don't know what to wear. What worked last time? Use your own recipe!
TRENDY AND TRADITIONAL
Polos are a there and now kind of top. They've been relevant for a long time, and have long been loved by prepsters and private schools alike. When you see a polo you might wonder if it's casual Friday at the office, or if it's take the afternoon off to go golfing ... day. The LIBERTE way is the classic black polo and distressed blue jeans with some glam jewelry. This brings the traditional collared top into today's on-trend fashion train!
BALANCE IN PREPPY VS ROCK AND ROLL
The polo gets the Liberte makeover when accessorized in edgy rock and roll style earrings. Just because this type of top lacks hardware, doesn't mean it needs to remain a soft look. Find it's balance by adding something unexpected and throwing a bit of your personality at it. I'd like to see this look finished off with studded wedges!
CASUAL AND DRESSY
Don't be one to pigeon hole yourself into dressy OR casual. Any fashionista will proclaim that dressy and casual can live together in harmony! Any t-shirt and jeans combo can be punched up with some glam jewelry to give it that "something special" and LIBERTE fully believe that sparkle is always, always, better.
LIGHT & DARK
Fight your inner ninja and wear contrasting colors. I know. It's so tempting to wear dark colors top to bottom, but if you give yourself balance - I promise, you won't regret it . This is the time of year to really lighten things up, so wearing white and pastels is predictable, but a dark jade topper with white denim is just breath taking and I'm sure you couldn't disagree!
BALANCE IN TEXTURE
With the smooth soft flow of the tunic cami, completely uninterrupted by any design or texture, we decided to accessorize with pave set jewelry. The texture of the bracelet and ring compliments the minimalist theme of the outfit. Where one area lacks detail, the other over flows. They come together in perfect harmony.
