When Things Get Too Sappy...

Tree sap happens.

And, when it does, removing the sticky substance can be a tricky task. This sap removal how-to works on everything from tree skirts to clothing. We’re demonstrating with a good pair of gloves that got sapped during a trip to the Christmas tree farm.

Gather These Tools:

STEP 1: Prep & Pretreat

Remove the pine needles from the item or items.

STEP 2: Remove The Sap

When dealing with a particularly gooey mess, rub the tree sap with an ice cube continuously for 2-3 minutes. Then, gently scrape off the excess sap with The Laundress Sweater Comb (for cashmere and knits), or the Wash & Stain Bar (for down coats and moisture wicking jackets).

STEP 3: Treat & Launder

Run water over The Laundress Wash & Stain Bar until lathered and work into the stain.

STEP 4: Launder as Normal

CHEERS!

You shall now be sap-free ;)
