Looking sleek and sophisticated when traveling for business or just to visit friends is easier said then done. Business traveling is a necessity in today’s fast paced world and today’s business trips often include a few casual get-togethers as well. Next week we are off to San Francisco for work and play (stay tuned to see our LIBERTÉ travel guide) so we based this HOW TO PACK tutorial on our upcoming trip!
Our clients, who have fantastic clothing by the way, often ask us what they should pack. Let us first say that your packing list will very greatly on where and when you are traveling but also what your plans are when you get there. You need to dress smart to impress your clients or boss, but doing so does not need to leave you overwhelmed. Each top we have in this blog works well with these fabulous DL1961 jeans and Herve Leger pencil skirt.
Make a packing list to avoid over packing. If you plan it out correctly, you can easily do an entire week’s trip with just a carry on! I know, every body says that but here are the tricks that they fail to mention:
- You have to select items that work well together and can be used interchangeably.
- Fabrics need to be versatile (and preferably breathable) to work with your other pieces.
- The fit of each piece must work with all other pieces you pack.
- Invest in good travel organizers or a bag that has built in travel organizers.
As we have all fallen prey to the lost luggage monster, we recommend not checking your bag unless absolutely necessary. The reduced hassle of never having to wait for bags, being the first through customs, and never dealing with the nightmare of lost luggage will make you a happier woman!
We highly recommend the carry on luggage with four wheels and a hook that holds your briefcase counterbalanced so that you can cruise through the airport with literally only a fingertip – this will save your back and shoulders from unnecessary pressure.
