A classic navy dress is staple in our wardrobes. We like to think of navy as a dark neutral, much like the way we think of black, so we suggest investing in high-quality pieces that will last for many years in timeless silhouettes. You will find that you can wear your little navy dress with just about everything! This Herve Leger dress in particular is a truly versatile piece as we paired it with a wide variety of colors and prints.
On it’s own, this dress is polished and powerful with it’s sensual sculpting across the bodice and neckline. While this dress is very glamorous and dressy, these bandage dresses are quite comfortable and can be worn casually or even to the office. Here, we paired it with gold jewelry to create a rich and warm look.
This essential dress proves Herve's versatility! At first glance you might think that you can only wear this dress just as is, but we urge you to be open minded about an Herve and contemplate mixing it with items you never thought about... Don't Play it Safe
Sometimes one great color isn't enough and we just don't want to play it safe. Case in point: we ramped up the overall feel of this dress by adding layers in a bright color for a breathtaking affect! Herve dresses are easy to layer because they refuse to bunch up and lay flat as a cooperative under pinning. We love taking our dresses into different seasons and this is the perfect way to do it. Get creative with your solids and see how layering can breathe new life to old favorites!!
A Perfect Pair
We chose to layer our python print Majestic over the Herve to show how you can take this look from day to evening with great ease! Visually pleasing in a monochromatic look, this dress and top are a perfect pair being absolutely comfortable and yet can go to sexy in a matter of minutes!
Rather than belting the dress as we did above, we chose to tie the oversized shirt to show you how that changes and enhances the female form. Tying is especially wonderful for women who are short waisted to give the illusion of a longer waist (the trick is to create angles). The high and lows of the shirt make your waist look smaller and create interest in the overall outfit.
Classic gets a make over with this navy tailored dress and chic black button up. Each sophisticated staple stands alone as a strong statement, but together they are powerful and are sure to command attention for all the right reasons. We like to think of it as quiet sophistication. The trick to pairing navy and black is making it appear intentional and by that we mean that the color differentiation is apparent. Going a step further for more visual interest, we also combined two unexpected textures: bandage and a crisp black shirt.
Love your look for years to come by reinventing it year after year. If you purchase classic pieces then you can be confident that your pieces will last through varying trends.
